Cookie Policy
The honest short version: sirenstudios.tech doesn't set a single cookie today. Here's the specific, plain-spoken breakdown of why, what third-party requests are involved, and what would change it.
The Short Version
No cookies, no tracking — not today
What this page covers
This policy covers sirenstudios.tech — the marketing website you're on right now. It has nothing to do with your own Ghostlight or Alethyra deployment, which runs on your own infrastructure and is a separate matter entirely, covered in Security & Responsible Disclosure. A cookie, for the record, is just a small piece of data a website asks your browser to hold onto — usually to keep you signed in, remember a preference, or follow what you do across visits. Worth defining, because the honest answer for this site is short.
What this site sets: nothing
sirenstudios.tech is a static website — HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with no database and no backend session to maintain. There's no first-party cookie of any kind: no login cookie (there's no login), no session cookie, no saved-preference cookie, nothing. That's not a setting we've switched off — the site simply isn't built with anything that would need one.
No analytics, no tracking scripts
We don't run Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook Pixel, or any other analytics, advertising, or tracking script anywhere on this site. We checked the codebase directly before writing this page, not just the marketing copy — there's genuinely nothing here watching how you browse. For the wider picture of what this website does and doesn't collect, see the Privacy Policy.
Why there's no cookie banner
You won't find a cookie consent pop-up on this site, and that's deliberate rather than an oversight. A consent banner exists to ask your permission for cookies a site is about to set — and since this site doesn't set any today, there's nothing yet to ask permission for. Bolting on a banner with nothing behind it would be its own kind of dishonest. If that ever changes, this page changes with it — see below.
Third-Party Requests
Fonts, and what's planned but not live
Fonts — self-hosted
This site's typefaces — Cormorant Garamond, Manrope, and Cinzel — are downloaded once and served directly from sirenstudios.tech's own server, under /assets/fonts/. This site used to load them live from Google's font servers on every page view; that's been changed specifically so no font-related request ever leaves this site for Google, not just documented as a third-party dependency. There's nothing to opt out of here — no request to block, no cookie tied to it.
Newsletter — not live yet
There's a newsletter signup built for this site, but it's currently switched off sitewide — you won't find a working sign-up form anywhere on sirenstudios.tech today. When it's turned on, it will embed a form from MailerLite, our email provider, and MailerLite may set its own cookies at that point, under MailerLite's own cookie policy. We'll update this page — and the Privacy Policy — the moment that changes, rather than describe it as current when it isn't.
Checkout — planned, not live yet
A Stripe and/or PayPal checkout is planned for the future. It isn't live today: every current purchase runs through Ko-Fi or Patreon directly. Once a Stripe or PayPal checkout does go live, those hosted payment pages may set their own cookies, governed by Stripe's and PayPal's own policies rather than ours. This is a heads-up about what's planned, not a description of anything active right now.
Links that take you elsewhere
Buttons and links to Ko-Fi, Patreon, Discord, and YouTube take you off this site entirely and onto theirs. Each of those platforms sets its own cookies under its own policy once you land there — that's between you and them, governed by their terms, not something this website controls or is responsible for.
Your Control
Browser controls, and what happens when this changes
Nothing to switch off here, yet
Because sirenstudios.tech doesn't set cookies of its own, you won't find a cookie-preferences toggle on this page. That's not a missing feature — there's genuinely nothing here to turn off.
Your browser is always in control
Independent of anything on this page, every modern browser lets you view, block, or delete cookies through its own privacy or site-settings menu. That control is yours regardless of what any individual website does or doesn't set.
How we'll handle it if this changes
If the newsletter goes live, a Stripe or PayPal checkout ships, or anything else starts setting cookies, we'll rewrite this page to describe it specifically and honestly, and add real consent tools at that point if they become necessary — not a banner installed in advance for cookies that don't exist yet. Questions in the meantime go to hello@sirenstudios.tech.
